Instructor Bio:
At the age of 10, Lisa started making her own clothes. She learned many tips and tricks from her stepmother. One of them was the importance of having a garment look as good on the inside as it did on the outside. So, she became proficient in the detail of sewing seams! Continuing to develop the fundamentals taught from her stepmother, Lisa turned her focus to home economics in school in order to foster and develop her creative instincts.
Lisa now has over 40 years of experience in sales and customer service. Always focusing on the customer?s needs, Lisa excels in her ability to help customers find their own creative side. Always trying to stay close to her first love, sewing, she started working in a quilt shop and learned not only about the quilting world of mixing all kinds of fabrics together but the new exciting world of embroidery. Embroidery opened another world which led to learning digitizing to understand the how the stitches were created.
Lisa then became a freelance educator. She traveled to different stores to educate the customers all about sewing. She loves the moments when the customer finally understands what is being taught and the look of excitement of their faces.
Lisa enjoys sewing, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, reading, cooking and just hanging with friends. She really loves when she gets the chance to just relax on a beach (salt water, not a lake), soak up the sun and just read! Lisa lives in Orland Park, IL with her husband, one of her 2 sons and the queen of the house their dog Bella.
