You will learn to use various features in IQ Designer to create a layered applique flag design.
PRINTER FRIENDLY VERSION
Fabric supplies:
1-24”x24” piece of white fabric for background
1-8”x10” piece of red fabric for flag applique
1-8”x10” piece white fabric or white on white print fabric for stripes applique
1-6”x6” piece of blue fabric for flag applique
1-4”x4” piece of red fabric for heart applique
1-3”x3” piece of white fabric for star applique
Other supplies needed:
Sewing machine in good working order with IQ Designer
Red, white and blue embroidery threads to match your fabrics
Filled bobbins
1-24”x24” piece of SF101 stabilizer
Heat and bond
Tear away stabilizer
Spray adhesive
9”x14” hoop
Fabric scissors
Scissors for trimming applique
Supplies needed for finishing project at home depend on end project being made. We will discuss options for completion in class.
Prepare BEFORE coming to class:
Apply heat and bond to the back side of the following pieces, but do not remove the other side of the heat and bond paper: red fabric for flag applique, white fabric for stripes applique, blue fabric for flag applique, red fabric for heart applique, and white fabric for star applique
Apply the SF101 to the back of the white background fabric
Hoop tear away stabilizer in the hoop
