Clever Iron Caddy Tote.KTX

This Caddy Pad has two sizes to choose from. For a regular size iron, be sure to get the Caddy Pad pattern. For a travel iron, get the Caddy Pad Jr. pattern. The heat resistant fabric is included with the pattern.

You will learn how to make a template and mark the lines to be stitched and folded. You will sandwich the layers, add elastic loops, make a binding, and add handles and buttons for closure. You will love this adorable tote that is padded to protect your iron and serve as a pad for ironing. It is perfect for travel, classes, and retreats.

Bring a sack lunch if you want to take a break or order food nearby.

SUPPLY LIST (Printer Friendly version)

Bring your sewing machine with cord, foot pedal and open toe foot.

For Caddy Pad (regular iron)

Main Fabric (preshrunk) 21” x 28”

(2) 4” x 14” pieces for handles (You might want to match your binding) 21” x 28” (2) layers of Insul-Bright OR (2) layers of cotton batting (preshrunk) OR 1 layer of Warm Tater

(2) 1” or larger pretty buttons

9” ¼” wide elastic

¼ yard contrast fabric for 90” of binding (cut 2 ½” or 2 ¼”)

For Caddy Pad Jr. (travel iron)

Main Fabric (preshrunk) 17” x 22”

(2) 3 ½” x 12” pieces for handles (You might want to match your binding) 17” x 22” (2) layers of Insul-Bright OR (2) layers of cotton batting (preshrunk) OR 1 layer of Warm Tater

(2) 1” or larger pretty buttons

9” ¼” wide elastic

¼ yard contrast fabric for 75” of binding (cut 2 ½” or 2 ¼”)

Something to make a template (thin cardboard or plastic)

For Caddy Pad about 12” x 6” For Caddy Pad Jr. about 10” x 6”
