The Starry Night pattern has 14 blocks using the Wonder Curve Ruler to cut the curved piecing. The piecing is quick and easy and is very forgiving for beginner quilters. Each technique used in the whole pattern will be demonstrated in the first session, and individuals can make any block that they choose in the class. Mary and Joseph are good starting blocks because they use all of the techniques necessary to make the quilt. The second session will reinforce the information from the first session, and personal assistance will be provided for any questions about the pattern.
SUPPLY LIST:
Sewing Machine, thread, scissors, cutting mat, 24” ruler, 45mm rotary cutter with a new blade, Wonder Curve Ruler, Starry Night pattern by Sew Kind of Wonderful (purchased from Sew Special), pen, and highlighter.
For a Bernina sewing machine, the 34C foot is recommended because it is a clear foot, helpful in sewing curves. For other machines, bring a selection of feet. The Singer Featherweight works well because of the narrow feed dogs.
Fabrics as needed for each block should be cut as outlined at the beginning of each block instruction. Do not cut the curves.
