Here’s your chance to make a beautiful tote for yourself, family, and friends. This is the popular tote created for holding the By Annie “Running with Scissors” tool bag, but this case is also great on its own. It can hold quilt supplies, toys, just anything! This makes it ideal for holding gifts at Christmas time and birthdays! You can choose what size to make since it’s available in 2 sizes. It has 2 large zippered outside pockets and 2 inside mesh pockets (which can be swapped to fabric if desired)
You will not finish the project in class. There will be a follow up class offered if needed. (This is decided at class with all the students)

You will learn to work with Soft n Stable, zippers and mesh. Tips and tricks will be provided throughout the class with step-by-step instruction for creating the amazing handle strap, placing inside and outside pockets and importantly attaching binding. Instruction for fussy cutting ideas will also be provided. This is a great prequel to “Running with Scissors” class since some techniques are similar and class is also being offered at Sew Special

- Handbag zippers for outside case 1 package of zippers by the yard is enough (see back of pattern for any questions) By Annie type is ideal, or any #4.5 or #5 size zippers should work. Long zipper is for closing entire bag, then 2 shorter zippers are for outside pockets.
- Sewing machine, neutral and zipper color matching polyester thread, pins, scissors, seam ripper, fabric marker, wonder clips, rotary cutter
* Student must know how to use the sewing machine

- 1/4" foot

- 1/8” craft tape, SUP217 1/8" Double Sided Basting Tape ByAnnie
- 1/4” craft tape, Double Sided Tape
- Basting glue, Roxanne
- Stiletto
- 8” x 14” ruler is great for this project
- 18" cutting mat
- Lunch and snacks for energy!
CLASS PREP - Please bring in Quilted:
-Quilt Set A - Main Body, Use size chosen for bag and firm interface (Soft n Stable)
NOTE: Most of this outside fabric will NOT show, because it is covered with your OUTSIDE pockets.
-Quilt Set B - ENDS and Pockets.
NOTE: This WILL show on your outside bag.
-Use same firm interface for ENDS (Soft n Stable)
-Use THIN Batting (Pellon 987F) or like SF101 Interface for POCKETS (to reduce bulk)
-Have 2” x 70” bias binding ready for outside case,
-2” x 153” binding for pockets (does not need to be bias)
