Black Cat Foundation Paper Piecing Project.KTX
Make a Foundation Paper Pieced black cat for a pot holder, trivet, table runner, bag or even a quilt. You will practice paper piecing skills to join sections into multiple segments, sewing precisely while using your scraps.
Supplies Needed
The book, Paper Piecing All Year Round by Mary Hertle
Bring your sewing machine with cord, foot pedal and open toe foot.
Scissors - Both paper and fabric
Neutral and/or matching thread and bobbins
Pins (flat-head preferred)
Clips (optional)
Seam ripper
Rotary cutter and mat (new blade preferred)
Optional- rotary cutter with blade to cut paper
Add a quarter inch ruler
Ruler 7” - 8” or longer
Seam roller
New needle
Iron and pressing mat
Fabric Requirements
Large scrap for light background, at least 9” X 11”
Scraps of black, light orange and dark orange is suggested.
2 white 5/8” buttons for eyes
2 black 1/8” buttons for eye pupils
Needle and thread to sew on buttons
