Ready for a full day of fun creating your very own custom, one-of-a-kind, pair of sneakers?
DEADLINE TO SIGN UP:
DECEMBER 21ST FOR JANUARY 25TH CLASS
FEBRUARY 1ST FOR MARCH 8TH CLASS
MARCH 8 FOR APRIL 12TH CLASS
In class you will cut and finish your components, install grommet eyelets, and use traditional shoemaking techniques to attach your beautiful, quilted uppers to high-quality sneaker soles.
Sneaker soles, waxed thread, grommets and tools needed will be included in class fee.
Supplies to Bring (PRINTABLE VERSION):
You will be contacted for your shoe size and color selection
- 1/3 yard of a quilted sandwich outer shoe fabric, Soft n Stable OR Bosal R Form in the middle, and inner shoe fabric.
NOTE: If you plan to fussy cut your placement, or you wear a size 41(U.S. 9.5) or larger bring a ½ yard quilted sandwich instead of the 1/3 yard.
-2 yards (72" in length) of a precut and ironed bias binding, cut at 1.75" wide folded in half, wrong sides together. THIS MUST BE ON THE BIAS
- Sewing Machine / Foot Pedal, Power Cord / Manual
- Scissors / Fabric and Paper Scissors
- Matching Thread for Bias Binding
- Flower Push Pins
- Wonder Clips for sewing binding
- Thimble (to push needle)
- Fabric marking pen or pencil (make sure you can see your markings on your fabric)
- Fray Check
- Stiletto
- Sneaker Laces
- 45" for lower and mid sneakers
- 60" for high top sneakers
Please make sure to bring a sack lunch, snacks, and a drink.
Please plan to be here at 8:30am to get your space set up so that we can start promptly at 9:00am! (Staff will be here to let you into the classroom)
