Foundation Paper Piecing Christmas Quilt
Learn how to make a foundation paper pieced Christmas tree for a Christmas quilt. These diagonal foundation-pieced trees create secondary design in this charming throw quilt.
Quilt size is 69 1/2” X 69 1/2”
This is a 2 session class. We will take a lunch break both days.
Session 1 - Cutting and paper-piecing trees. Make sashing units.
Homework- Continue making trees and sashing units.
Session 2 - Assemble the Quilt.
Supplies Needed
The book, Christmas Quilting With Wendy Sheppard.
Sewing machine with cord, foot pedal and open toe foot.
Scissors - Both paper and fabric
Neutral and/or matching thread and bobbins
Pins (flat-head preferred)
Clips (optional)
Seam ripper
Rotary cutter and mat (new blade preferred)
Optional- rotary cutter with blade to cut paper
Add a quarter inch ruler. Longer one is preferred.

Iron and pressing mat
Fabric Requirements
1/4 yard each of 9 assorted prints.
(I suggest 27 green trees and 9 red trees if your sashing is red.)
4 yards ivory solid for backing
2 1/2 yards red print for sashing
4 2/3 yards backing
