Violet Backpack.SATX

The backpack features a zipper pocket on the front and two slip pockets inside. The main closure features a double pull handbag zipper. You will customize poly webbing to make straps that perfectly coordinate with your fabric backpack. You will learn bag constructions techniques to make your bag strong and secure.

Machine needle 90/14 or denim needle

Pattern: The Violet Bag pattern purchased from Sew Special Quilts

Bobbins with thread to match exterior and interior fabrics.

Ruler and rotary cutter

Small cutting mat (optional)

Small iron and wool mat (optional)

Zipper jig (optional if using zipper by the yard)

Pins and clips

Removable marker or white chalk marking tool

Seam ripper

Double Sided basting tape (1/8” or ¼”)

Turning tool (for fabric tubes)

All materials and supplies per pattern.

Bring Lunch and snack! This will be a full day class

Homework: Please read pattern and machine quilt your fabric/foam panel before class per pattern. Cut and label all pieces according to pattern instructions (be mindful if using directional fabric).
