Introduction to Quilt Binding.SATX

Introduction to binding a quilt. Several different ways to bind a quilt will be demonstrated, including hand and machine techniques. A sample to bind will be provided to each student to be completed in class.
This is a hands-on class demonstrating several ways to bind a quilt, both
hand and machine finishing. A small sample to be completed in class will
be provided for each student. Preparing the binding and sewing it to the
sample in a simple manner will make this finishing step to making a quilt an
enjoyable process. More advanced techniques will also be discussed,
including faux piping and curved binding.
Supply List
- Sewing Machine (cleaned, oiled and with a new needle)
- Thread and bobbin
- Iron and ironing mat if desired
- Basic quilting supplies such as scissors, pins, seam ripper, and small quilt binding clips.
- A walking foot or dual-feed foot for the machine will be helpful.
- Hand needle and thread to practice hand binding.
