One Day Quilts Wish Making.SATX

The “Wish Making” pattern is great for a confident beginner!  You will learn to make 8 half square triangles at a time along with stitch and flip corners.  In class we will cut out the background fabric and complete 1 row.  Depending on skill level, you may be able to complete the entire quilt top.

BEFORE CLASS: Please starch and press background fabric but DO NOT CUT.  We will be cutting the background in class.  Starch, press and cut all the remainder prints for the top.

Supply List (PRINTABLE VERSION) 

Sewing machine in good working order. (Cleaned, oiled and with a new needle)

Purchase “One Day Quilts” book from Sew Special Quilts- (“Wish Making” pattern in book)

Fabric requirements:

2 ¼ yards for background

1 yard for large stars and binding

3/8 yard each of 5 prints for stripes

Matching thread and bobbin

¼” foot

Rotary cutter with a sharp blade

Large rotary cutting mat (24” x 36”)

Bring 2 rotary rulers: 24” long and 12 ½” long 

6 ½” square ruler

Fabric marking pen or pencil

Small scissors

Pins or clips

Optional:

Small iron and ironing mat
